Spryfield Resident Bios

Dr Ben Clark grew up in Rothesay, New Brunswick. He completed medical school at Dalhousie University and graduated in 2026. His medical interests include emergency medicine, community primary care, and hospitalist medicine. His hobbies include distance running and playing acoustic guitar. Dr. Clark has a wife, three young children, an Irish setter, and a cat.

Dr Emma Courtney grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. She completed her medical degree at Dalhousie University and graduated in 2025. Emma’s medical interests include women's health & obstetrics, as well as minor procedures. She loves being outdoors and keeping active, eating good food, knitting, reading, and spending time with friends & family!  

Dr Mobolaji Eddy-Aina grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. She completed medical school at the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Nigeria, and graduated in 2005. Her medical interests include geriatrics, ophthalmology, and wound care. Her hobbies include travelling, discovering new cultures, cooking, and camping. She enjoys spending time with her family and taking part in wellness activities, especially going to the gym.

Dr Omar El-Hajj grew up in Edmonton, AB. He completed medical school in Dublin, Ireland, and graduated in 2026. His medical interests include general practice, physical rehabilitation, and obstetrics. His hobbies include reading, cooking, and going to the gym.

Dr Hanan Elawadi was born in Egypt and grew up in Saudi Arabia. She completed her medical degree at Dalhousie University and graduated in 2025. Hanan’s medical interests include comprehensive family medicine, minor procedures, and preventive medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. They often visit the playground and connect with other families, especially on beautiful sunny days. She has a supportive and loving family, including her husband and children. They enjoy spending quality time together, especially outdoors activities like walking and gardening. Their support keeps her grounded and motivates her both personally and professionally. 

Dr Haimi Estifanos grew up mainly in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and also spent part of her life in Toronto, Canada. She is excited to call Halifax her new home. She graduated from the University of Niš, Faculty of Medicine, in Serbia, in 2026. She is interested in broad-scope family medicine, mental health, and women’s health. She enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants, exploring nature, and finding the best coffee spots in town. Her family is a big part of who she is. They keep her grounded, motivated, and laughing through everything. You’ll usually find her planning her next trip, checking out a new brunch spot, or spending time outdoors.

Dr Christina LeGay grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She completed medical school at the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary in 2026. Her medical interests include low-risk obstetrics, gynecology, menopause, and women’s health. Her hobbies include running, reading, and baking. She has a son with her husband who is almost four years old. She also has a large dog and a cat. Dr. LeGay enjoys spending time with family, visiting playgrounds, and exploring new outdoor spaces with her son.

Dr Sadaf Mohtashami spent most of her adult life in Montreal, Quebec. She completed her medical degree at McGill University. Her medical interests cover the full spectrum of family medicine—from acute care to chronic disease management—with a particular interest in procedures. She values the continuity of care and the diagnostic variety that family medicine offers, and she enjoys building long-term relationships with her patients. Fluent in both French and English, she is committed to delivering compassionate, comprehensive care to her community. Sadaf’s hobbies include hiking, exploring new cuisines, and engaging in water activities such as kayaking or swimming. She enjoys tasting different dishes and socializing with friends.  

Dr Ashwini More grew up in India. She completed medical school at the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), India, and she pursued her second medical degree at Dalhousie University after immigrating to Canada in 2018 and graduated in 2025. Ashwini’s medical interests include women's health, dermatology, and procedures. She enjoys baking, gardening, and spending time with her daughter participating in children's activities. She lives in Halifax with her 4-year-old daughter and husband. 

Dr Stephen Park grew up in Lark Harbour, Newfoundland. He completed his medical degree at Memorial University and graduated in 2025. His medical interests include acute care and minor procedures. In his spare time Stephen enjoys working on physical fitness, cooking, and gardening. His hobbies include drone videography, golf, and woodworking. His family consists of his partner, Scott, and a miniature golden-doodle named Chip. 

Dr Reyhaneh Rahimi grew up in Tehran/Iran. She completed her medical degree at the Tehran University of Medical Science (TUMS} and graduated in 2018. Reyhaneh’s medical interests include family medicine. Reyhaneh enjoys painting and hiking. 

Dr Nyka Riego grew up in Newfoundland and Qatar. She completed her medical degree at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and graduated in 2024. Nyka’s medical interests include emergency/urgent care and gender affirming care. She has three nieces and a nephew who all live in Halifax, so she’s excited to be back in Halifax to spend more quality time with them. 

Dr Karthic Sivakumar was born in Sri Lanka and grew up in both Nova Scotia and Ontario, spending many of his formative years in Arichat, Cape Breton. The Maritimes have always felt like home. He, his wife, and their young daughter recently relocated to Halifax and are excited to build their future in Nova Scotia.

Dr. Sivakumar completed medical school in Ireland and Bahrain and graduated in 2023. His medical interests include comprehensive family medicine, preventive care, chronic disease management, health promotion, and culturally responsive care.

His hobbies include snowboarding, surfing, fitness, travel, exploring new cultures, technology, and spending time on the water. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, staying active through fitness and outdoor activities, exploring Nova Scotia’s coastline, travelling, and discovering new restaurants, communities, and experiences throughout the Maritimes.

Dr Clare Snow grew up in St. John’s, NL. She completed medical school at Dalhousie University and graduated in 2026. Her medical interests include addiction medicine, women’s health, dermatology, and pediatrics. Her hobbies include hiking, cycling, cooking, and baking.

Dr Victoria Vezina grew up in Montreal. She completed her medical degree at Dalhousie and graduated in 2025. Victoria’s medical interests include emergency medicine, primary maternity care, public health, and preventative medicine. She enjoys being physically active whenever possible and spending time with her young family.
