Dalhousie Family Medicine Clinic Patients

Starting May 2026, please book an appointment with your Dalhousie Family Medicine physician after any lab work, imaging, emergency department, or specialist appointment to ensure all information has been received at Dalhousie Family Medicine during the transition phase of One Person One Record (OPOR) in Nova Scotia.

OPOR is a new system that will change the way patient information is shared and accessed by your care team across Nova Scotia. It replaces many older computer systems and paper charting at the hospitals. IWK Health was the first health centre to implement OPOR. Across the province, health care facilities with Nova Scotia Health will also implement this system over the next few years.

During transition, we want to ensure that your important medical information, including medical test results and consultant reports, are received in our offices.

For the team at Dalhousie Family Medicine this means patients are asked to follow up with appointments after any lab work, imaging, emergency department or specialist appointment to ensure all information has been received by your family physician and can be reviewed with you.

We would like to thank you for your kindness and support as we adjust to the One Person One Record (OPOR) clinical information system that is rolling out at the IWK and Nova Scotia Health.

Your partnership makes a difference. Thank you.
